Kim Jong-il Passes Away: End of an Era in North Korea

Kim Jong Il, the mercurial and enigmatic North Korean leader whose iron rule and nuclear ambitions dominated world security fears for more than a decade, has died at the age of 69.
Kim's death 17 years after he inherited power from his father was announced on Monday by the state television from the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.
Kim's longtime pursuit of nuclear weapons and his military's repeated threats to South Korea and the United States have stoked fears that war might again break out or that North Korea might provide weapons of mass destruction to terrorist movements.
Kim is believed to have suffered a stroke in 2008 but he had appeared relatively vigorous in photos and video from recent trips to China and Russia and in numerous trips around the country carefully documented by state media.
Principle of Self-Reliance
Kim Jong Il inherited power after his father, revered North Korean founder Kim Il Sung, died in 1994. He had been groomed for 20 years to lead the communist nation founded by his guerrilla fighter-turned-politician father and built according to the principle of "juche," or self-reliance.
In September 2010, Kim Jong Il unveiled his third son, the twenty-something Kim Jong Un, as his successor, putting him in high-ranking posts. Even with a successor, there had been some fear among North Korean observers of a behind-the-scenes power struggle or nuclear instability upon the elder Kim's death.
Unknowable Figure
Called the “Dear Leader” by his people, Kim, the son of North Korea’s founder, remained an unknowable figure. Everything about him was guesswork, from the exact date and place of his birth to the mythologized events of his rise in a country formed by the hasty division of the Korean Peninsula at the end of the Second World War.
North Koreans heard about him only as their “peerless leader” and “the great successor to the revolutionary cause.” Yet he fostered what was perhaps the last personality cult in the Communist world. His portrait hangs beside that of his father, Kim Il-sung, in every North Korean household and building. Towers, banners and even rock faces across the country bear slogans praising him.
Country’s Nuclear Arms Arsenal
Kim was a source of fascination inside the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which interviewed his mistresses, tried to track his whereabouts and psychoanalyzed his motives. And he was an object of parody in American culture.
Kim Jong-il was also a driver of the secret nuclear weapons program, which continued with secret help from Pakistan's A.Q. Khan network after a 1994 agreement with the Clinton administration supposedly froze all developments.
Kim sought to build up the country’s nuclear arms arsenal, which culminated in North Korea’s first nuclear test explosion, an underground blast conducted in October 2006. Another test came in 2009.
Mass starvation among the North Korean population, after the collapse of the Soviet Union ended critical external aid and floods ruined successive crops, did not divert Kim from his cultivation of the Korean People's Army, under his ''Songun'' (army first) doctrine.
Role as Defense Chief
Kim's role as chairman of the National Defense Commission, commanding the army, became more important than the general-secretary role in the Worker's Party. Frequent on-the-spot ''guidance sessions'' and sharing of meals with frontline soldiers were aimed at reinforcing personal loyalty among the soldiers.
The death comes at a sensitive time for North Korea as it prepares for next year's 100th anniversary of the birth of founder Kim Il Sung - Kim Jong Il's father. The preparations include massive construction projects throughout the city as part of Kim Jong Il's unfulfilled promise to bring prosperity to his people.
Seoul and Washington will worry that Kim Jong Un 'may feel it necessary in the future to precipitate a crisis to prove his mettle to other senior leaders', according to Bruce Klingner, an Asia analyst at The Heritage Foundation think tank in Washington.
Personal Interests
Kim was said to have cultivated wide interests, including professional basketball, cars and foreign films. He reportedly produced several North Korean movies as well, mostly historical epics with an ideological tinge.
A South Korean film director claimed Kim even kidnapped him and his movie star wife in the late 1970s, spiriting them back to North Korea to make movies for him for a decade before they managed to escape from their North Korean agents during a trip to Austria.
Kim rarely travelled abroad and then only by train because of an alleged fear of flying, once heading all the way by a luxury rail car to Moscow, indulging in his taste for fine food along the way.
One account of Kim’s lavish lifestyle came from Konstantin Pulikovsky, a former Russian presidential envoy who wrote the book The Orient Express about Kim’s train trip through Russia in July and August 2001.
Paroxysm of Grief
Kim's death was unlikely to plunge the country into chaos because it already was preparing for a transition. Kim Jong Il indicated a year ago that Kim Jong Un would be his successor, putting him in high-ranking posts. North Korea will now go into a paroxysm of grief that may continue until the 100th anniversary of Kim Il-sung's birth in April.

New Interpretation of Retaliation or Blood Money

Qisas is an Arabic word, the Urdu equivalent of which is Khoon baha. It is that money which is paid as compensation to the relatives of slain by the assassins. Islamic jurisprudence permits this compensation or blood money but under strict conditions, such as the relatives or heirs must accept it voluntarily. No force or pressure can be applied.

Today there are diverse opinions on it. While some consider it okay, others say it is archaic. Including the United States, capital punishment is prescribed for murder. In certain conditions, it is converted to life imprisonment.

Practice of Capital Punishment In many countries, voices are being raised against the practice of capital punishment, but no one thinks about the agony of the heirs in the event of the death of their bread earner. In that sense, blood money system is justified. In certain condition, the death penalty given to the assassin is fruitless for the heirs. Therefore, certain civilized societies besides handing the punishment also prescribe fine on the assassin.

The debate of blood money has once again surfaced when US man Raymond Davis killed two Pakistanis. David was arrested and produced before the court, but this case became an issue between Pakistan and the United States, who asked for his release on the pretext of immunity to diplomat. Pakistan officials did not agree to this condition, saying that Raymond is a CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) agent, who has to be punished. This was on one side a prestige issue for the United States and on the other, Pakistan knew that the public which is already against the United States will further get agitated. Hence, this mediocre system was adopted and a heavy amount of $4 million per slain victim was finalized as compensation. Soon after this, Raymond was released and sent back to the United States.

Approval of Islamic Laws Although, the rich alone can afford such arrangement, rich people, without paying any compensation to the victim's family, often manage to hush up the case by greasing the palms of police and engaging great legal brains and go scot-free. In this case, the diplomatic relations between the countries remained intact.

The two parties, the Jamaat-e-Islami and Imran Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf, are planning countrywide protests against this decision, whereas, this has the approval of Islamic laws. Do not they believe in this law? Surprisingly, in this case, the mediator was Saudi Arabia. In the present matter, the sentiments of the families of the slain would be similar to that of Jahangir's.

Reverse Counting of US Exploitation

Before looking forward at the 21st century, we have to look at the 20th century. The question is who is the conqueror of the 20th century? The answer is Emperor United States. Will the conqueror of the 21st century again be Emperor United States? Time will decide!

However, before proceeding further, we have to review the factors that made the United States the conqueror of the 20th century after becoming a superpower in 1945. Prior to the United States, the sun of the British Empire never set. Its entire colonies got mutated to the United States.

Big Achievements
There are three big achievements because of which the United States became the conqueror of the 20th century:

1. Inventing nuclear bomb and annunciating the phenomenon of its superpower by bombing innocent citizens of Japan.

2. Devising the new method of enslaving people of the world discreetly, instead of openly, and by sloganeering peace, independence, and democracy. The concept of secret or clandestine slavery was devised with utmost shrewdness. Through this method, people's conscience was enslaved to ransack and plunder resources of nations. One can imagine the power of this discreet slavery that in the First World War (1914 to 1917), Germany had to face defeat. Despite this, in 20 years' time, Germany became a superpower and in 1939, it ravaged the entire world. The reason was that in those times, the technique of discreet slavery was not prevalent.

The conquerors of discreet slavery are so inclement that after facing defeat in the Second World War and passing of 65 years, Germany is still a US colony. What to talk of Third World and Muslim nations, prime ministers of developed countries like Japan and Britain first became the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agents, and then took the oath of prime ministership. The French president first became an agent, and then took the oath of presidentship. European countries barring France and Britain, in spite of being developed countries, cannot make nuclear weapons since there is no permission. The job of these developed countries is to assist and support the United States on global platform. The biggest US enemy in the Third World is Muslim countries. Despite making them its slaves, the United States always remains worried for any probable threat of voice for independence. Despite this persecution and slavery, in the 20th century, revolutionaries like Gamal Abdel Nasser, Sukarno, Muammur Gaddafi, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Ayatollah Khomeini stood up to challenge this tyrant. Anyhow, we will not talk much about the 20th century as our topic is the 21st century.

In December 1979, the Soviet Union captured Afghanistan. The United States did not have courage to face the Soviet Union. Therefore, it put across its slaves or puppets of Muslim countries. This Cold War slowly converted into the Third World War, culminating in the Soviet Union's defeat at the hands of Muslim slaves, and master United States.

Order of Nature
The Soviet Union was later disintegrated into 16 divisions. This incident made the United States the conqueror of the 20th century. The United States could have contented on this conquest, and would have freed the suffering masses of the world from the clutches of exploitation, tyranny, injustice, and miseries.

On contrary, the United States opted to become the emperor of the 21st century. It engaged its think tank's entire machinery on this project. With this, the first step was to disintegrate Muslim countries through its enslaved agents, for which the fall of the World Trade Tower in New York was used. The United States invaded Iraq, and then Afghanistan, but in the meantime, Iran's president announced his nuclear power, which created trepidation and fuss in CIA cadres. This was the order of nature aimed to make Muslims the conqueror of the 21st century.

Mysterious Domain
Although this decision is in mysterious domain, but the clairvoyant can visualize it. The life of the United States is hidde n in the parrot of Israel. This parrot is now under target from all directions. The height of US demerit can be measured from the fact that a handful of Hezbollah cadres debunked and thrashed Israel, and the Emperor United States was a silent spectator, along with its technology and satellite capabilities. Now, the question is whether the discreet slavery will continue in the 21st century? For this, we see two groups face-to-face. On one side are the oppressors, and on the other side are the oppressed classes.

We can imagine that the US end will be worse than that of Soviet Union, but we have to see things practically. The United States accumulated wealth through devastation and plunder, which is not a sign of stability. Russian warships getting rusted at sea are indicating that military power is aimless. By 2050, the US fate will reach its logical conclusion. In the 21st century, each country will possess nuclear power, not to terrorize others but to safeguard themselves. There will be no superpower to loot and plunder, and people's dignity and independence will prevail.

Revolt in Egypt

The efforts made by people of Tunisia have at last succeeded. People in this North African country had fallen victim of exploitation and tyranny of a family dynasty for more than three decades. President Zine El Abidine Bin Ali had to flee the country after having accepted his defeat in face of popular protests.

It was one of the African countries, which had accepted and embraced Islam in the seventh century. The western borders of Tunisia are adjacent to Algeria, and in the northeast to Libya. Its northern and eastern boundaries are the coasts of the Medetterian Sea. The countries remained under Islamic occupation until 1870. After that, the country turned into a French colony when the French hatched conspiracies against it.

During the Second World War, Tunisia turned into a war field and was targeted by the Italian and German armies. Though Muslim institutions had nothing to do with the war, they bore the brunt of the war. The country remained under the occupation of Hitler and Mussolini for a long time. Later, it was taken over by the allied forces and it became a French colony yet again.

In 1957 Tunisia became an independent country and France handed over the presidentship of the country to Habib Bourguiba, who ruled the country for about twenty years. Later, physicians advised him that he was no longer in a position to rule the country. Without any protest he peacefully handed over the government to Zaine El Abidine Bin Ali. He turned the country into his own property. The country has a population of approximately 10 million. There is, although, democracy in the country, and Zaine El Abidine Bin Ali had been recognized at its duly elected president.

Large-Scale Rigging
During the 2009 elections, he was declared elected with an overwhelming majority. He secured 90 percent of the total votes cast yet the people were not happy with these results as they felt a large-scale rigging was done in the polls. Since he enjoyed the support of Western countries, one could muster courage enough to dethrone him from power. Encouraged by the blindfolded support of the West, he ruthlessly exploited this prosperous country to fill his own coffers.

It is worth a mention that the per capita income in Tunisia is higher than that of the Middle East and other Islamic countries in Africa. It is 40th in the international list of prosperous countries. Having become disillusioned with the family dynastic rule, the people there decided to bring about true democracy in their country. They revolted against him during 2010, but the army and the police under Zaine El Abidine crushed the revolt mercilessly. Even newspapers got stifled. Every newspaper was ordered to carry the Zaine El Abidine propaganda and publicity in at least 90 percent of their space and carry international reports in the remaining 10 percent.

Oppressive Government
The tyranny of the government increased by the day. At the same time the protest by the people continued to escalate and gain ground because of the sacrifices made by them. People bore every kind of tyranny perpetrated by the government but did not succumb to the oppressive government. At last, the president, along with his family had to flee the country. Though the situation in Tunisia is yet to get normalized and no stable government could be formed because of lack of leadership, it is a certainty that the fugitive president has no hopes to make a come back. If the dares to return, he would be arrested and put in prison. People of Tunisia have issued a red corner notice against him through the Interpol.

It is said that a person gets inspiration by seeing others do a thing. The same is happening is yet another African Islamic country, Egypt. People in Egypt have taken to the streets against the President, Hosni Mumbarak and his dynastic rule. Egypt is a country, which links two continents. It has the largest population in Africa and the Middle East. There are about 80 million people. Amongst them 90 percent are Muslims and ten percent Christians. It i s also one of these countries, which had embraced Islam during the seventh century. It remained an Islamic country until the 18th century, but during 1798, Napoleon took it over for a short span of time. During the 19th century the kingdom of Usmania, made the French army to leave the country. Thereafter the Islamic country had to bear the brunt of the First World War and then the British took it over.

US Intervention
It achieved independence in 1922 and during 1957 it was declared as Islamic Republic of Egypt. It was a rare privilege of the country that it got a stalwart Islamic leader in Abdul Gamal Naser, who made a futile attempt to take on the Zionists. After it was defeated by Israel, Egypt no longer remained an Islamic Republic but turned into a puppet of the United States. After the assassination of President Anwarsadat, Hosni Mubarak took over the reins of the government, a democratic despot.

Since then, he continues to come out successful at every husting and he claims to be the ruler of a democratic country but he is looking after the interests of Israel in the Middle East to the best of his ability. The Muslim populace in the country is not only troubled by the irregularities but are also frustrated with the role played by Egypt in the blockade of Ghaza by Israel. Moreover, after the attack on a church in Alexandria early this year, Christians retaliated against Muslims. This also annoyed people.The Muslim population decided to dethrone the pro-West government of Hosni Mubarak. They organized anti-government demonstrations in Cairo, Alexandria and other Egyptian cities.

These demonstrations are so hugely intense that the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) has advised the family of Hosni Mubarak to leave the country. After that, the son and the daughter-in-law of Hosni Mubarak fled the country. The demonstrations are becoming more intense and the observers believe that he would have to abdicate. If it happens, there would be paradigm shift in the situation in the Middle East and there would be a fresh headache for Israel.

US Midterm Elections

Midterm elections have been held in the US for all seats of the House of Representatives, 32 seats of the Senate and offices of the state governors on 2 November 2010. Dozens of candidates who tested their luck following the tall shadow of the election campaign run by President Barack Obama faced humiliation of defeat at the hands of Republicans. In the US House of Representatives having 435 members, the Democrats lost in 240 constituencies. In the elections to the upper house i.e. the US Senate, the Republicans improved their position.

Advantage Republicans
Various tops guns of the Democrats lost in the recent elections. The candidates ruthlessly used wealth for their victory. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who got much fame in the field of acting and later became state governor, lost the office of the governor. Whereas a look as to who contested election from where and on ticket of which party ads to one's knowledge and wisdom, it also widens one's political and social awareness.

Democrat Senator from Florida Michael Bennet celebrated second consecutive victory after defeating Republican Cain Huke. Obama had to suffer the shock of historic Republic victory on his ancestral seat of Illinois. Obama had got elected as senator from the same seat. The Republicans won on two most important Senate seats of Northern Dakota and Arkansas. John Thune defeated Terry Porter while in Arkansas John Bosman delighted Bush Junior by emerging victorious.

In Missouri, former head of Armed Services Committee Scouts was badly defeated on the ticket of Democrats as Wiki Mart of Republican knocked him out. In the House of Representatives, the strength of Republican has increased. If the Obama ministers failed to show interest in the ending military inventions in other countries during the rest of the presidential tenure for the sake of poverty, unemployment and colonialist desires in light of the public feelings and aspirations, their hopes of winning the next presidential will fade forever.

Human Massacre and Barbarism
Muslims are to be reminded here that the Publican party is a frightening group of conservatives and jingoists who achieve such successes in human massacre and barbarism under the patronization of former President Bush following the 9/11 that the human spirit sheds tears of blood. The victory of the Republican is a food for thought for the Muslim community. There were many smugglers and businessmen from oil industry in the Bush cabinet who have been busy in promotion of the Zionism and paving the way for Greater Israel.

The Zionist lobbies of Bush era wrote the script of the tragic drama of 9/11 to plunder the natural resources and energy deposits of the Middle East and the US forces imposed on Kabul and Baghdad the terrifying war on the earth and occupied the two countries after thrusting the responsibility of the destruction of the Twin Towers on Al-Qaeda, Muslim fighters, jihadist organizations and Saddam Hussein. The US and allies spilled the blood of two million Muslims in Iraq and Kabul and this barbarism is still continuing. The wise intellectuals bragged that the victory of the Republican cannot affect Pakistan. Those expressing such opinions are devoid of wisdom because they are unaware of this threat that voices of selecting Pakistan for the next round of war are constantly appearing in the Western media. Under the banner of ISAF (International Security Assistance Force), 120,000 are busy in battles in Afghanistan. ISAF consists of the military power of the 50 advanced countries of the world.

Impact of Afghan War
The Afghan war is the longest and the most dangerous war of the history of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). Taliban have stunned the occupation forces. The US has started dialogue with the rivals with key role of Pakistan to avert the ugly stain of defeat. Reports are appearing in the Western media that if the terrorism could not be confined to South Asia, Afghanistan and borders of FATA [Federally Administered Tribal Areas], the West would be crying because of its threat. Instead of Kabul, the global players have focused their sights on the border region of Pakistan. The Japan Times has reported that the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) and Mosad have planned bomb explosions, terrorism and suicide attacks in several areas of Europe for which Pakistan will be accused and then a war will start in Pakistan on the pattern of Afghanistan.

The US think tanks and military analysts say that achievement of the Western interests in the Afghan war is not possible until the military power of Pakistan is not overcome. The Pentagon has given target to the US agencies to swiftly use the effective prescription of propaganda and to stuff the minds of the people of West that Pakistan is a threat for the West. The Western newspapers, TheWall Street Journal, Sky News and BBC are crying that drill for Mumbai-type attacks in Europe is going on in Pakistan. US, India, Israeli Sign Accord for Opening of Joint Offices

The US, Indian, and Israeli Governments have signed an agreement to set up joint intelligence offices. The agreement was inked at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi.

Strengthening International Intelligence
Meanwhile, the interior, external, and defense ministries of the Indian Government has given directions to the concerned intelligence authorities to bolster contacts with the US and Israeli intelligence agencies as part of efforts aimed at strengthening its international intelligence system. The ministries have also directed the authorities concerned to prepare a list of expert officers in this regard.

The United States will set up a joint intelligence system of its three intelligence agencies in the Indian cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Jaipur. In addition, the Israeli intelligence agency will set up its offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Jammu. India will set up its joint intelligence offices in Washington and New York as well as in Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Ashdod.

Agreement of Cooperation
The sources say that Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Mosad, and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) have signed an agreement of cooperation spanning more than five years after long and intense deliberations of one year.

Supposedly, the United States has hatched a plan of bringing forward India to maintain its supremacy in the Afghan region, while Israel has also signed several joint intelligence-related agreements with India to increase its influence in the Arab countries through New Delhi.

Treatment in Guantanamo Detention Camp

A former US captain by the name of Imam Ma Yee came for the first time to Malaysia. He gave a talk detailing to the Muslims in Malaysia about his personal experience and treatment when he was arrested by the US authority. He was kept at the Guantanamo Detention Camp. He said he has witnessed with his own eyes the inhumane treatment of Muslim prisoners of war by the US soldiers inside the Guantanamo Detention Camp.

Nevertheless he said he was confident that US President Barack Obama would fulfill his promise and commitment to close the Guantanamo Detention Camp eventually. He added that the Muslims in the United States, the local US human rights organizations as well as some supporters of President Obama were in high anticipation for President Obama to close the Guantanamo Detention Camp. This was because this detention camp has seriously damaged the US world status and reputation.

Inhumane Treatment Prisoners of War by US Soldiers
At the Al-Khaadem fund raising dinner (held on 16 May in Petaling Jaya), Imam Ma Yee, also known as James J. Yee, has given a speech titled 'Guantanamo: Exploitation of Human Rights' to the Muslims in Malaysia. At this fund raising dinner, former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad and his wife were guests of honor for this function. Also presented at this fund raising function was Al-Khaadem President Syed Hussain Yee.

In his speech, this ex-US captain said by now he was disappointed with President Obama because on 11 January 2010, President Obama has promised to close the Guantanamo Detention Camp. However, as of today, the US Government has not taken any action to fulfill President Obama's promise.

He said that there were still more than 180 detainees being kept inside the Guantanamo camp. He said that at the height of it, there were as many as over 700 detainees kept there. He also added that the condition at the Guantanamo Detention Camp at present stage has been improved a lot. He said that incidents leading to the abuse of power, corruption and ill treatment of prisoners of war by the US soldiers were not as serious and as rampant is it used to be in the past.

Aim To Obtain Intelligence From Muslim Captives
Imam Ma Yee pointed out that what made Muslims angry was that the Guantanamo Detention Camp has made use of religion as the main weapon to force the Muslim detainees to provide intelligence on terrorist activities.

'Very often, in order to force the Muslim detainees to come out with intelligence on terrorists, the US soldiers would make all kinds of profanity to desecrate Islamic faith, including trampling on the Koran and prohibit the Muslim detainees from performing their prayer rituals.

'The way the US military treated the Guantanamo Muslim captives was like treating dogs or animals without observing any basic human rights.'

Imam Ma Yee said he himself had also been innocently investigated by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agents. He was arrested and kept in the Camp for as long as 76 days under the order of US military tribunal court. Moreover, he was put in an isolated cell, handcuffed in both hands and legs. In addition, his eyes were blindfolded and his ears were covered. When he was detained, not only had he lost his total freedom, he has also lost the rights to see and to hear. He said he was simply cut off from the entire world.

Counseling Prisoners of War in Guantanamo Detention Camp
Imam Ma Yee believed that he has suffered such an unfair treatment by the US military because he is an ethnic Chinese and also a Muslim.

In November 2002, the then US Captain Imam Ma Yee was sent to the Guantanamo Detention Camp by the US forces with the assignment to provide religious counseling to the more than 600 Taliban prisoners of war the US soldiers had captured in the Afghanistan battlefield. His other duty was to persuade these Taliban prisoners of war to surrender.

However, in August 2003, when he made use of his vacation to go home to visit his relatives, when he was half way through Florida, he was abducted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He was charged with 'instigating revolt during the period when he worked in the Guantanamo Detention Camp.' He was also charged with 'fornication foreign enemies' and 'does not obey orders', among others offences.

After his release in 2005 Imam Ma Yee resigned from the US military forces. Currently, he engages in writing and in giving talks about his personal experience at the Guantanamo Detention Camp. He has been to a number of countries telling other nations about what he has gone through at the Guantanamo Detention Camp. He said the countries he had giving talks included Germany, India and Turkey among others.

Issues Pertaining to US Born Muslims

Although the Obama administration has abolished the former US George W. Bush administration's "war on terror" emphasis shortly after US President Barack Obama became the US President, but the special effort taken by President Obama in wanting to improve the US perception in the World Muslim in the past year has failed to achieve any concrete result. There is no sign to show that the "clash of civilization' phenomenon has subsided. Moreover, before the end of 2009, we heard news about a religious extremist who claimed he would act on behalf of the Al Qa'ida terrorist network to carry out terrorist mission. This Islamic extremist tried to detonate a bomb on a Northwest Airlines international fight heading toward the US homeland but failed.
More compelling is that within the global Islamic extremist forces, we witness the emergence of a growing number of US-born Muslims. Such a trend was obvious when, on the day after the foiled terrorist attempt to blow up the Northwest Airlines plane, US mainstream daily The Washington Post has through its website on its international news section, posed two top stories relating to US-born Muslim terrorist development.
The first news said that on 24 December 2009, the Yemeni government carried out an air strike in order to clear the hideout place of Al Qa'ida network members in Yemen. Apparently, this was done with the help of the United States. The action taken by the Yemeni government has caused concern and attention to the people in the United State. Many wanted to know if the anti-US Muslim cleric Anwar Awlaki was among those killed in the air raid. Earlier report has allegedly charged that Anwar Awlaki has connection with the Fort Hood army base Muslim shooter Major Nidal Hassan. The second top news carried by Washington Post on the same day said that the Pakistani authorities were getting ready to prosecute the five US Muslims from Virginia whom Pakistani authorities have arrested for their allegedly involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan.
The common denominator of the two top news carried by The Washington Post was that both the incidents involved US born Muslims. All the names involved in the news were US Muslim citizens and that the anti-US Muslim cleric Anwar Awlaki was no exception. If the US Muslim cleric Anwar Awlaki were indeed killed in the Yemini air strikes aided by the United States, then as the father of Anwar Awlaki claimed, it would be the first time the US Government executed death sentence to a US citizen by providing direct support to a foreign government without going through judiciary process. More importantly, these recent developments have shown that in the international "political Islam' trend, the US Muslims are increasingly playing a prominent role in such a development. US born Islamic extremists are indeed on the increase. The senseless Fort Hood military base shooting by Muslim Major Hassan has created tremendous impact to the mainstream US society as well as the US Muslim population that are law abiding.
To the mainstream US society, such a development is a challenge to the US traditional immigrant society culture. The development has also given the mainstream US society a sudden sense of feeling that their superiority European societal culture has been weaken. In a relative comparison, the US society suddenly discovers that after half a century of their assimilation policy, they still cannot really "digest" the non-Christian immigrants coming other countries as well as from Europe. All along, the United States is proud of its successful "melting pot" immigrant policy. However, recent series of religious terrorist related events have shown that this "melting pot" immigrant culture has lost its effectiveness on the descendents of US Muslim immigrants.
President Obama is the first US President that carried some Afro American blood. Obama is also the first US President that can trace his religious root to some Islamic influence. Nevertheless, since Obama was raised his single mother and Christian grandparents, Obama only retains middle name 'Hussein' In reality Obama has not been influenced by Islamic culture.
In Washington, the political fight for power has been intensified. Such political struggle for power has begun to have an impact on US foreign policy direction. President Obama's original intention to reduce the Muslim World's anti-US sentiment by cooling down the counterterrorism policy has suffered severe setback. The US Government's intention to treat all citizens "fairly" has also become more difficult to achieve.

Assimilation of Societal Process
Of note is that since the Second World War, the US defense and military have made effort to recruit and promote soldiers and military officers coming from minority groups with the intention to reduce racial prejudice and to speed up assimilation of societal process. This is the reason the Fort Hood shooting killer Major Nidal Malik Hasan could still earn the trust of the US Armed Forces although this Muslim Major has shown his anti-US tendency much earlier. After the tragic shooting at Fort Hood army base, the right wing conservative groups have begun to question this traditional "politically correct" military policy. They even demanded the resignation of US Army chief.
Yet at the same time, with the extremist Muslim population in the United States on the increase, it seems to us that the US intelligence agencies, in particular the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have vigorously strengthened their vigil, surveillance and penetration to the US Muslim community and certain Muslims. A recent issue of The New York Times has even revealed that some FBI agents have disguised as Islamic religious extremists and set up trap to order to arrest Islamic extremists and put them in courts. Moreover, the report also said that the FBI personnel also work with the US Immigration to lure some of their targeted Muslims as their 'line agents' by either approving their green card permanent residency or threaten to deport them from the United States. The job of these "line agents" is to secretly monitor and prosecute the Muslims of their same kind.
Such practice by the US intelligent bodies in treating the Muslim population has caused a strong rebound in the US Muslim community. To borrow the words of The New York Times, they have planted "the seeds of anger and fear" in the Muslim community.

Fundamental Interests of Islamic World
The way the US authority handles the Muslims made the US Muslims feel that from the beginning to the end, the authority has always suspected and considered them as a different category of US citizens. As such, many Muslim citizens have taken a negative approach by taking less overseas trips, becoming very selective in their friendship and by reducing their willingness to do voluntary work for the society or made donation to the society as an act of Islamic faith.
As of today, the US Government and the US community at large are still not willing to look into the underlying causes of why the Islamic radical and extremist thought could attract the younger generation of Muslims in the United States so deeply. In the author's opinion, the main reason is that in the eyes of the majority of the US Muslims, they feel Washington's foreign policy is detrimental to the fundamental interests of the Islamic world. To take a recent example, under the subtle approval by the Obama administration, the Israeli regime has continued to occupy and carry out expansion in East Jerusalem. However, to the Muslim World, the importance of East Jerusalem is only second to Mecca and Medina. East Jerusalem is considered as the third holiest place to the Muslims. According to the Islamic faith, East Jerusalem is the land where the Prophet Mohammad ascended to heaven.

Demand of Situation
Under such circumstances, Washington might continue to view the Muslim community in the United States as the potential "fifth fleet" of the Islamic extremist force in the United States. Such subtle handling of US Muslim population can only widen and distance the US Muslims from the mainstream US society.
Some time ago, we read a Reuters report that said that when the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) made an announcement for the recruit of more workers, the Arab Americans have responded to this call in a rather lukewarm or even cold manner. They simply said, "Does the United State love us?" This short statement has candidly summed up the contradiction and the ambivalence faced by the US Muslim population.

Who is Responsible for WTC Collapse?

It has been eight years since the 9/11 incident happened and the war against terrorism started. The eastern and western nations agree on the fact that the war against terror that started as an effect of the incident of 9/11has resulted into an increase in terrorism.

The world has become more insecure than ever before. But the most amazing thing is that, even after eight years, there has been no consensus yet, that who carried out these attacks?

Secret Elements Behind WTC Attacks
Who is actually responsible? What are the secret elements behind these attacks? What were their motives? Why did they target the World Trade Center ? Were they really Arabs? Did they get training of flying airplanes in US institutions? Did the World Trade Center building collapsed just because it was hit by airplanes or the towers collapsed because of missile firing or the explosive material that was inside the towers?

Did any investigations took place about the bodies of the passengers? Where did the wreckage of the colliding airplanes go? Was it swallowed by the earth or eaten up by the sky? Many other such questions arise in every one's mind, which has not been answered satisfactorily by any US organization.

Findings of Investigation
No matter how horrible an accident, black boxes of the airplanes remain safe, but in this case not only the black boxes, but the whole planes have been disappeared. One of the professor of Birmingham University has proved in his research that the 110 storey building of the World Trade Center cannot collapse just because of crashing of airplanes or because of blaze.

When the investigations were carried out the building collapsed because of the explosions that were heard inside the building. During the investigation of the material obtained from the rubble, a special kind of explosive material, used by the US military, was found. This strengthens the claims of the investigators that destruction of the World Trade Centers was a result of a joint conspiracy of the US military, Zionists and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

It is possible that some elements of Al-Qa'ida might have been used for this purpose. Consciously or unconsciously they might have sacrificed their lives, even then it does not mean that Al-Qa'ida should be made an excuse to obliterate the whole Muslim world. This would be same as all Jewish people annihilating the Christians around Europe because of Hitler.

Attack on Muslim World
After the destruction of the two towers of the World Trade Center in New York, unlimited towers of misfortunes and miseries fell on Muslims and Islam. By forming coalition of international plunderers and by employing support of some Muslim countries, the United States attacked Afghanistan. Thousands of Muslims, young, elderly, children, and women were martyred and many more were injured. After toppling the Taliban Government and seating Hamid Karzai on the throne of power, the United States moved toward Iraq. Weapons of mass destruction and Saddam Husayn's dictatorship were made an excuse to batter Iraq.

During this war, 1,200,000 Iraqi Muslims were killed and many were made disable. The standard bearer of human rights, the United States and its allies dropped prohibited and most destructive bombs on innocent civilians, which resulted in painful consequences.

Inhuman Activities
Innocent women and elderly were detained in the name of capturing the insurgents and were given heart-wrenching punishments inside the notorious prisons of Bagram and Abu Gharaib. Because of the US aggression, whole structure of Afghanistan and Iraq was destroyed. The peace and security became rare.

When the thick curtains of democracy, freedom and tolerance fell and frightful and disgusting the United States face was revealed clearly before the world. The world realized that if the reins of the whole world are given into the hands of these destructive elements, they would make the world a war zone and will kill innocent civilians and destroy peace and security.

Impact on International Community
Who does not know that because of this so called war, turmoil has spread throughout the world? The US policies have resulted in escalation of violence. The Western media, however, are compelled to write that the Taliban are emerging as a strong and stable force.

Al-Qa'ida and its linked groups are a persistent threat for the US interests. Sixteen US intelligence agencies have declared the aggression against Afghanistan, as a reason behind the rise of Islamic Jihadi movements around the world.

Forty-three most powerful nations fighting in Afghanistan under the US flag have not yet succeeded in capturing the federal leadership of Al-Qa'ida. Even the US spies around the world and the latest satellite technology are unable to trace them. The commandoes, who were deployed to capture Osama Bin Laden dead or alive, have not achieved a breakthrough in this regard. No strong evidence, so far has been found to make possible the capture of Osama.

If the attacks occurred in the United States, the war zone should have been the United States. However, this is a bizarre philosophy that suicide explosions occur in the United States and the reaction takes place in Pakistan. Terrorist acts are carried out in the United Kingdom and bombs are dropped on Afghanistan. Wherever any kind of terrorist activity takes place, any Muslim country is held responsible. Why?

According to a latest report, the United States has sold arms of $37.85 billion to many Third World countries so that they keep on fighting and killing each other and the US interests go unseen. The amazing thing is this that the United States has also sold arms to the organizations outlawed by the United Nations. Now you can tell, is the United States a champion of peace or an enemy of humanity and an assassin?
