Jihadists in Pakistan and Afghanistan lead a life soaked in blood. At times, they target others and at others they fall victims of aerial attacks. This is their life! At times, they become friends of the US and at others, its enemies. The enmity between jihadis and the US has become so intense that the US is bombarding their homes with missiles. At least, this is what has befallen the head of Pakistani Taliban, Baitullah Mehsud.
Baitullah Mehsud's Death
Baitullah Mehsud's death became headlines not only in Pakistan but the world over. In Pakistan, it was an open secret that Baitullah Mehsud was so close to the US that despite specific information of his whereabouts, no drone attack could target him ever. It was said that he got Benazir Bhutto assassinated at US behest. A renowned analyst of Pakistan affairs, Nusrat Musheer, writes, "Baitullah Mehsud had declared war on Pakistan.
Baitullah Mehsud killed hundreds of Pakistani soldiers since 2005. Hundreds of innocent citizens also fell to his bullets. Because of this, he had emerged as the most wanted murderer in Pakistan." He further writes, "It was known that he was a US agent and worked at the specific US instructions. It is also said that it was at the instigation of the US and Israel that he had taken up arms against Pakistan".
Conspiracy Against Pakistan
In short, Baitullah Mehsud was a US agent. He was part and parcel of a conspiracy against Pakistan. And there is nothing surprising in it. After he had done what the US was using him for, the US had no utility of him and, therefore a US missile that targeted his home killed him.
In fact, ever since the jihadi movement commenced in 1980 in Afghanistan and Pakistan, all leaders of the movement including Baitullah Mehsud have been, purposely or clandestinely, a puppet in CIA hands.
In 1980, when the former Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan and gained control over it, a furor was created in Washington that it was time to avenge the Vietnam defeat on the USSR. During 1960-1970, the Soviet Union had supplied arms to Vietnam and had taught a lesson to the US. Perturbed by what it had to face in Vietnam, the US was greatly eager to avenge its defeat there. It decided to supply arms and ammunition to Afghans via Pakistan, and spend lavishly on both Pakistan and Afghanistan so that Afghans armed with sophisticated US weaponry may pin down the Soviet Union in hilly terrains of Afghanistan, forcing Soviet soldiers to run away. It was because of this that the slogan of jihad began to be raised via Pakistan.
Jihad in Afghanistan and Pakistan
The jihad that is on for the last 30 years in Afghanistan and Pakistan is, in fact, a US game plan, which has been proved and confirmed by analysts all over the world. A renowned Pakistani journalist who is now based in the US, Ahmed Rashid, has said in his book "Descent Into Chaos" that between 1982 and 1993, about 35,000 Muslim militants from 43 Islamic countries assembled in various madaris [religious seminaries] in Pakistan at the behest of the CIA, Inter Services Intelligence, and Saudi Arabia's intelligence agency. They were provided regular training in warfare in Afghanistan to fight the Soviet Union.
From the seed of the global jihad as sown by Pakistan's General Zia-ul-Haq of Pakistan and former US President Ronald Reagan, a jihadi organization Al-Qa'ida was born. It was also this seed that made Pakistan the center of jihadi activities for full two decades.
It has now become as clear as the day that whether it was the Afghan Mujahidin of 1980 or Al-Qa'ida that targeted the US since 2000, or even Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud, the roots of all these jihadis are linked to US intelligence agency CIA, and Pakistan's ISI. This implies that it is the US and CIA that patronize all jihadi activities emanating from Afghanistan or Pakistan.
Political Game of the US
What does the US gain from this political game in the name of jihad? In fact, jihadi organizations and those who enforce jihad are part of the US strategic planning. By using them, the US achieves its political goals. First of all, by raising the slogan of jihad overnight, it eliminated its oldest enemy, the Soviet Union in 1980, and by the end of the 20th century, the US became the sole superpower in the world. The Anglo Saxon race that is ruling the US had the blessed idea in its head that as the UK had enslaved the world in the 19th century, in the same way the Anglo Saxon race be foisted upon the world. With this in mind, none other but former US Vice-President Dick Cheney had announced that the 21st century would belong to the US. Ahmed Rashid writes "The US had never made any such proclamation earlier. Its open message was imperialism or to bring the world under US control." After this announcement, Bush has become the "cowboy of the world".
As soon as the 21st century commenced, the US using the Al-Qa'ida attack of 11 September 2001 declared itself against all kinds of terrorism, and the cowboy of the world arose to become the ruler of the world by imposing US supremacy on it. In the name of war against terror, it turned Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other central Asia countries--Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and dozens of African countries--into US military bases. In this way, 90 percent of Muslims all over the world became fiefs of the US and their states its fiefdoms.
9/11 Factor
In wake of 11 September 2001, the US brought almost the entire Islamic world under its control and, as a natural corollary, gained control over their oil wealth. In a nutshell, the ruckus and furor on and against jihad helped and benefited none other than the US.
If, led by their religious sentiments and raising the slogan of "God is Great", Muslims gained anything, it was suicide bombing, that later began to kill their own fellowmen. That is why much jubilation and merry making is seen at the killing of Baitullah Mehsud in Pakistan, which had nurtured thousands of jihadis in its madaris. The jihad of the 20th and 21st century is un-Islamic. Instead, it is a service to the US.
In this macabre dance of death and bloodshed, it is the US that is benefiting and Muslims are at a loss. For God's sake, keep yourself aloof from this nefarious US game plan, or you may also meet this same fate like Mehsud. In short, the current jihad is a conspiracy. It is no service to Islam that began in the 1980s from Afghanistan, and the end of which is not in sight.
