US Announces New Afghan Policy

US President Barack Obama announced his new Afghan Policy during his speech at the West Point Military Academy. This policy entails withdrawal of the US forces from Afghanistan in July 2011, and the deployment of 30,000 additional US troops. According to a US admiral, this number can go up to 34,000. Approximately 68,000 US troops are already deployed in Afghanistan.
The arrival of new troops will increase the number of the US troops in Afghanistan to102,000. Meanwhile, NATO has also announced to send 5000 of its troops into Afghanistan. However, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has not been able to satisfy his parliament and the public. In order to assure the United States and Karzai that the United Kingdom is with the coalition partners, he has pledged to send only 500 troops. However, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and some other countries have refused to send more troops.

Regrouping of Taliban
According to Barack Obama, the situation is entirely different as compared to 2001. The Taliban are regrouping and they have established their rule in most parts of Afghanistan. Osama Bin Laden and his companions are hiding in Pakistan. Pakistan should stop using the terrorists as weapons. The United States will go to every extent in protecting its citizens. The elimination of Al-Qa'ida from Pakistan's tribal areas is the US top priority.
From Islamabad to Karachi, the United States will take action against the terrorists wherever they are present. In addition, the US secretary of state has called for further action against Al-Qa'ida, just as Gordon Brown and Obama have demanded to "do more". However, it is surprising that Hillary Clinton has acknowledged that after the Afghan war when there was conflict between the Jihadist commanders, students of the madrasahs rose up and took control of Afghanistan. They, then established peace throughout the country. In her speech to the Foreign Affairs Committee, she said that the United States is willing to negotiate with the rational Taliban and is also willing to include them in the political and national system.
Hamid Karzai, on his part, has announced that he is ready to talk to Mullah Omar to establish peace in Afghanistan. NATO General McChrystal has said that Afghanistan was more peaceful during the Taliban's era. Its highways were safe.

Sequence of Negative Propaganda
Obama's new policy is a warning bell and also a sequence of the negative propaganda from the American officials that started after the 9/11 and is still being continued. This speech from Obama is obviously disputed and a summary of all the badmouthing directed at Pakistan by the US newspapers like The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and the US electronic media.
On one hand, there is an announcement to send 34,000 additional troops, on the other, there are plans for withdrawal in July 2011.

Withdrawal of Troops
The purpose for sending more troops is to establish peace in Afghanistan. Were the 68,000 US troops present in Afghanistan along with the NATO and ISAF forces able to establish peace in any province or area during the last eight years? How can we expect these 30,000 troops to establish peace? The deadline for withdrawal in 2011 is obviously disputed. Will there be complete peace in Afghanistan by 2011?
Will the Afghan National Army, which has not been able to tackle the Taliban in these eight years, come to the same level as the US marines or the Red Army in just one and a half years? In fact, the purpose of all these conspiracies is to put pressure on and destabilize Pakistan so that the international community can seize control of its atomic weapons, declaring them as unsafe.
The US leaders come and go but their policies remain the same; they never change. The United States thinks that the same situation can be created in Pakistan through which it took control of the atomic capabilities of Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, and other countries in 1991 after the disintegration of the Soviet Union.
